The role of Senior Legal Services Officer will include:
1. Provide high quality legal services to the Group's operations including high quality, accurate and timely legal advice and support to ensure that corporate compliance is maintained
2. Manage the delivery, co-ordination, maintenance and monitoring of an effective legal disrepair case handling service including the Legal Services helpline, ensuring accurate reporting and availability of information
3. Manage the recruitment, performance management and development of quality staff to ensure required skilled staff are available to fulfil contract specifications, in line with customer expectations
4. Assist in managing the Group's external legal providers including managing legal spend and invoice analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and Group financial procedures to protect the interests and reputation of the Group
5. Monitor corporate compliance with relevant legislation and regulations and provide advice and guidance to support the Group in ensuring continued compliance that is, where relevant, in line with the Group's policies
6. Review and update relevant policies and procedures to ensure continued compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and in line with the Group's policy framework
7. Manage and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers, identifying any shortfalls in service delivery and ensuring they are dealt with appropriately
Skills and experiences:
8. Recent experience undertaking a similar role
9. Proven experience of managing projects with strong project management skills
10. Proven experience of working to deadlines and prioritising workloads
11. Working knowledge of housing regulations, legislation and current practice
12. Comprehensive experience of analysing and diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions
13. Proven experience of advising senior managers and staff on legal issues
14. Experience of managing staff

27. £37,414 per annum (rising to £39,383 per annum after 12 months, subject to satisfactory performance)
