Job Description
A leading Energy Trading company who are looking to hire an experienced Business Analyst to support the ongoing development and optimisation of their trading applications, with a focus on Power Trading.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in energy markets, particularly power, who can act as a key liaison between the front office trading teams and the technology function. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analysing business requirements, identifying system improvements, and delivering value-driven enhancements across complex trading platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with traders, quants, and IT teams to gather and refine requirements for trading system changes
* Translate business needs into functional specifications and support end-to-end delivery of trading application improvements
* Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of trading logic, user interfaces, and integration points
* Assist in testing, validation and user acceptance of new system functionality
* Support incident analysis and resolution for trading system issues
* Help drive continuous improvement initiatives within the trading technology landscape
Key Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Business Analyst within a trading environment - ideally within power or broader energy markets
* Strong understanding of power trading workflows, including intraday, day-ahead, or PPAs
* Experience working with ETRM platforms or bespoke trading systems
* Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical users
It’s a Hybrid role (3 days in London) with a salary up to £120k for the right candidate.
