We are looking to recruit a clinical support worker to join our established nursing team. We seek motivated Clinical Support Workers who want to make a difference in patient outcomes and join our welcoming team.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work in an acute environment, developing their skills in trauma orthopaedics.
Ward 10 is a 22-bed orthopaedic unit specialising in care for trauma patients undergoing complex total hip and knee replacements, along with other upper and lower limb surgeries.
Responsibilities include:
1. Assist the Registered Nurse in administering direct patient care
2. Communicate clearly with patients, carers, relatives, and multidisciplinary team members
3. Discuss patient comfort and safety, recording communications on Wirral Millennium
4. Prioritise workload effectively
5. Inform qualified staff of changes in patients’ conditions or observations
6. Escort and chaperone patients as appropriate
7. Consider individual needs when communicating with patients and carers
8. Perform clerical duties such as filing
9. Order supplies within agreed stock levels and ensure proper storage
10. Maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality
11. Assist in the safe handling of patients' valuables and property
