Our stunning new home, Wilmslow Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 63-bed care facility situated in the popular town of Wilmslow, Cheshire, 11 miles south of Manchester city centre. Opened in September 2022, it provides the highest standards of safety, comfort, and care to residents with various needs. We offer residential, nursing, and dementia care. We invest in the latest technology and provide a purposeful program of daily activities and gentle exercise to enhance residents' experience, care, and wellbeing. All team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, undergo a full induction, and receive ongoing training from our in-house trainers in conjunction with the New Care Academy. We have maintained a staff team without agency workers for over 18 months to ensure continuity of care from staff who know and residents trust. All staff are paid above the national living wage.
We are seeking to appoint a kind and motivated Assistant Chef to join our team. You will work with the Head Chef and Second Chef to ensure high-quality food service that supports residents and contributes positively to their living experience. The position is a full-time 38-hour contract with a competitive hourly rate of £11.50, paid regardless of age. Shift times are 07:30-17:30, with alternate weekends.
Role Responsibilities:
* Ensure menus are presented and displayed clearly, allowing residents to make daily choices about their meals.
* Provide meals in sufficient quantities, considering dietary, medical, ethnic, and personal needs and preferences.
* Ensure all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented, served timely, and in the correct sequence.
* Follow and adhere to company HACCP protocols, ensuring full compliance.
* Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in kitchen and serving areas, adhere to infection control standards, and comply with the Food Standards Act 1999, including record keeping.
* Manage and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef and Second Chef, ensuring quality service delivery.
* Inspire and motivate the team to produce high-standard food.
Skills and Experience Required:
* Experience working during busy meal periods, including breakfast and dinner.
* Experience in a care home or similar environment.
* Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery.
* Ability to contribute to and develop a four-week menu.
* Ability to complete records demonstrating legal compliance.
