Job Summary
We are looking for a passionate and resilient Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a welcoming school setting in Northumberland.
This is a full-time, term-time role ideal for someone experienced in behaviour support, who is committed to making a positive difference in children’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and group support for pupils with SEN and SEMH
Support children with behaviour regulation and emotional needs
Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to implement individual support plans
Assist with classroom activities and differentiated learning
Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
Encourage pupil independence and engagement in learningRequirements
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – Essential
Experience working with SEN and/or SEMH children – Preferred
Strong behaviour management and communication skills
Ability to stay calm under pressure and work with empathy and patience
