Senior Test Specialist
Location: Basingstoke/Bracknell
Your role
We are looking for self‑motivated Senior Test Analysts to join our existing dynamic Test Practice. You may lead a team of testers and work closely with all project stakeholders. Working alongside a team of dedicated professionals, you will be driven to find better, faster, more effective ways of testing and add value to the projects you are working on. You will lead by example and work to develop your team and emerging talent to strengthen the Test Practice and build our reputation as a centre of excellence. This is a fast‑paced environment where you will have the chance to grow and build upon your existing knowledge and ability.
Your Transferable Skills And Experience
* Experience of all phases of testing, including but not limited to Integration, System, Regression
* Demonstrable knowledge of configuration, change and release management principles
* Demonstrable knowledge of version control systems such as Subversion
* Demonstrable understanding of the software development and testing lifecycles
* Understanding of and experience with multiple delivery methodologies such as Agile, V‑Model and Waterfall
* Experience of testing both infrastructure and applications
* Experience of identifying test data and creating test cases in response to clearly defined requirements, including specialist test case creation for both manual and automated testing
* Experience of executing test cases and recording results in accordance with established test plans, including specialist execution
* Experience of defect logging, investigation and support
* Experience of collecting test‑related metrics
* Experience of organising test materials, environments, tools and resources required to deliver planned testing activities and coordinating testing against the schedule, reporting progress, risks and incidents
* Creation of high‑quality test plan documents for small to medium projects or discrete pieces of work that address requirements and mitigate risks
* Accountable for the deliverables of the test team for a small project to agreed schedule
* Understands testing requirements for a project and agrees testing scope with stakeholders
* Experience of writing test scripts, test reports, defect management and reporting requirements
* Experience using JIRA
Core Skills
* Manual and automated testing including non‑functional, functional and end‑to‑end testing for application, infrastructure, hardware and regression
* Production of test artefacts such as test plans, test scripts, test reports, defect management reports
* Essential experience with Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, SCOM, SCCM, VMware
* Execution of manual test scripts
* Requirements management
* Clear understanding of delivery methodologies such as Agile, V‑Model and Waterfall
* Day‑to‑day support to programme and project managers to deliver required testing
* Able to work effectively in a team environment
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent at building strong working relationships with peers and colleagues
* ISTQB qualification at Foundation Level or above
* Desirable but not essential experience with NXLog, McAfee, SQL, Terminal Server, Juniper Networking, Cisco Viptela, Cisco ISE, KeePass
