A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Mechanical Fitter within our Test & Validation department, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team responsible for building, installing, and supporting gas turbine test programmes. Working in a controlled test environment, your role will support the validation of current and future products through high-quality mechanical assembly, instrumentation, and test preparation.
You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and external customers, contributing hands-on expertise to development and production testing while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and professionalism.
How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Carry out mechanical fitting and assembly activities to exacting standards, supported by clear and accurate documentation.
2. Build and assemble gas generator and power turbine hardware across the product range, including major sub-assemblies and disc builds.
3. Install and support engine and rig testing activities within the Test & Validation environment.
4. Support development and production test programmes in line with business priorities.
5. Apply and support mechanical instrumentation, including thermocouples, strain gauges, and pressure tappings.
6. Manufacture and install associated pipework and mechanical services for engines and test facilities.
7. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
8. Work flexibly across shift patterns and, where required, support testing activities at other Siemens Energy locations.
What You Bring
9. HNC or equivalent demonstrable mechanical engineering experience.
10. Proven experience working with rotating equipment.
11. Background in gas or steam turbines, power generation, marine diesel, or aircraft engine maintenance.
12. Strong understanding of mechanical assembly, fitting, and test preparation.
13. A proactive, safety-focused mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
14. Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and travel as business needs require.
15. General IT competence for documentation and reporting.
