We are looking for an energetic and patient individual to provide respite care for our 18 year old son. He has complex needs and is non-verbal. The goal is to provide independence outside the family home.
* Between 2-6 hours per week.
* £20.00 per hour
Main duties:
* Providing 1-2-1 support during outings
* Assisting with feeding and intimate care when required
* Ensuring a safe environment. Our son loves to go walking, swimming and he enjoys activities that are sensory related such as music.
Previous experience with learning disabilities is preferred but no essential. We are looking for someone who is patient, kind and trustworthy.
Personal Assistant Specification
Driving licence with own transport.
DBS check will be required.
Assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
My assistant must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.
My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.
You must be able to work well independently.
My personal assistant is accountable to me in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure which will be funded through your employer.
