About The Opportunity
The Water and Environment Business Unit focuses on River Engineering and Flood Risk Management solutions. As an apprentice, you will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team, providing innovative and sustainable solutions for clients such as Water Companies, the Environment Agency, and SEPA.
Responsibilities
* Designing a Sustainable Drainage System for new developments
* Assessing and designing options for managing flood risk and adapting to climate change
* Assessing the safety of infrastructure on rivers
* Designing and supervising the construction and operation of nationally important flood defence assets
* Contributing to determination of budgets for the next five years of investment in the water industry
What you’ll need
* Minimum of 120 UCAS tariff points or equivalent
* A keen interest in civil engineering and water catchment management
* Strong communication and teamworking skills
* A flexible and proactive self‑starter passionate about developing new skills
* Ability to adapt and prioritise while juggling work and study priorities
* Enthusiasm and curiosity to apply skills to solve real‑world problems
* Empathy and listening skills to understand client requirements
* A well‑rounded person – varied experiences are valued
* Permanent right to work in the UK
