Youth Worker – Alternative Provision

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Youth Worker to join an alternative provision setting, working with students who have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs). Your mission will be to re-engage learners, foster confidence, and equip them with the skills needed to transition successfully back into mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Engage students through tailored activities, mentoring, and sports to create a supportive and positive learning environment.
* Build trust and act as a positive role model, helping students overcome barriers to education.
* Use inclusive and flexible approaches to encourage participation and progress.
* Support students facing social, emotional, and behavioural challenges with effective de-escalation and positive behaviour strategies.
* Collaborate closely with teaching and support staff to maintain a structured and nurturing environment.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or a related field.
* Proven ability to work with young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a calm and consistent approach.
* Patient, resilient, and adaptable – committed to making a lasting impact on young lives.
* Confident in managing challenging behaviours and providing emotional and pastoral support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
