This role will be based between the RAF office in Basildon and Arbuthnot Latham's office in London. Renaissance Asset Finance (RAF) provides unregulated fixed term finance to its chosen customer market of small and medium sized enterprises and high net worth individuals. These are generally introduced to RAF via a network of brokers with whom RAF establishes close working relationships. A large proportion of assets financed by RAF comprise of higher value private cars, collectors' cars, purpose built taxis, coaches and other specialist vehicles. RAF also funds the purchase of a range of commercial plant and machinery as well as a limited volume of business critical soft assets. RAF prefers to finance assets that have strong collateral characteristics and identifiable second hand markets. RAF also provides wholesale Finance to Tier 2/3 finance companies via its Block Discounting Business. This business confidentially acquires portfolios of loans at a discount with the seller continuing to act as administrator for these loans collecting all payments due. RAF is also in course of developing a wholesale finance business alongside its Block business to enhance our product offering into this sector. Renaissance Asset Finance Limited (RAF) was established by its founder shareholders in February 2014. In 2016 RAF's shareholders and Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited (AL), entered into an agreement to acquire 100% of the business and following regulatory approval, RAF became a wholly owned subsidiary of AL in April 2017. Responsible for the new client structuring, approving and onboarding together with day to day operational and risk leadership for Renaissance Asset Finance Ltd. To oversee the underwriting function, deliver effective portfolio client risk management strategies and provide a high-quality service to RAF introducing brokers and its clients. To lead, oversee and manage all lending activities that RAF provides including the credit proposition and related policies and appetite statements, approval process, in life management, watch and non- performing book and the Collections team. To support the sustainable and profitable growth of RAF in line with corporate objectives, approved policy and appetite statements. Resource, develop, people manage and motivate Underwriting & Collections teams to support the achievement of company objectives. Development of corporate policy and strategy with the Managing Director. Responsible for: New client structuring, approving and onboarding. In life client management including risk and service delivery. Collecting our agreements in default Accountable for the quality, monitoring & control of the RAF lending book. Define credit risk policies, processes and procedures in line with Arbuthnot Latham & Co Ltd appetite, policy and strategy. Define standards for credit applications and ensure adherence. Monitor and analyse market trends and recommend changes to lending strategy where appropriate to ensure the portfolio remains profitable and sustainable. Contribute to any pricing discussions. Communicate key risks to Managing Director, RAF/Managing Director AL Specialist Finance and to AL Heads, Head of Compliance / Chief Risk Officer / Chief Credit Officer/MLRO. Manage the non-performing and watch book in line with agreed strategy and ensure the Collections team are delivering their objectives. To be a member of the RAF internal Credit & Sightings Committee plus input to the wider Arbuthnot Latham & Co. Ltd Committees as appropriate. The role will report to RAF MD, with a dotted reporting line to AL Chief Credit Officer (to ensure independence) and operation of the Three Lines of Defence Model Person Specification Knowledge / Experience Extensive knowledge of commercial lending and asset finance lending. Previous leadership experience at senior level Extensive experience of deal structuring, operations and credit risk management. Excellent understanding of a wide range of industry sectors. Enthusiastic and able to demonstrate a positive and flexible approach. Team player, support colleagues and line management in achieving objectives.
