Overview
Pharmacists are valued members of our multi-disciplinary team playing a key role in the delivery of independent prescribing, technical and clinical medicines management services. The post holder will also form part of the clinical pharmacy services team, working within the pharmacy dispensary to ensure all chemotherapy prescriptions and adjunct treatments are clinically screened in accordance with national guidelines and best practice guidance, along with working on the inpatient wards when necessary.
Responsibilities
You will have the opportunity to work as a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber to support the provision of systemic anticancer treatments to our patients and ideally have clinical oncology/haematology experience. You will work closely with your cancer site specific team(s) as well as being a key member of the pharmacy department. You will provide an advanced level clinical pharmacy service to our patients. If you are enthusiastic about oncology pharmacy and are able to work as part of a busy team, we look forward to hearing from you. You will be required to work weekends and Bank Holidays on a rotational basis. This post includes a commitment to undertake emergency on-call duties. To assist the Chief Pharmacist and Principal Pharmacists in developing and maintaining the pharmaceutical service to Velindre NHS Trust to ensure that it is safe, efficient in the use of resources and complies with the Clinical Governance requirements of the Trust.
Qualifications
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
