At Torus, we are looking for an Apprentice Neighbourhood Housing Officer to join our Housing team in Liverpool. This exciting opportunity will give you hands‑on experience whilst helping you develop the skills and knowledge needed for a successful long‑term career in housing and neighbourhood management. As a Housing Officer Apprentice, you’ll take part in an 18‑month programme that combines practical experience with structured learning. You’ll begin by working alongside experienced Housing Officers, gradually taking on more responsibility as your confidence and skills develop. This role will be based at our Liverpool city centre office, with travel required to sites and offices across Liverpool, Warrington and St Helens. Alongside your role, you’ll work towards a Level 3 qualification in Housing and Property Management, including the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Level 3 Certificate through PfP Thrive Learning Centre. This will include workplace learning, project work, day release to college and a final assessment to support your development. You don’t need previous housing experience. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your interest in working with people and your commitment to being part of a team. What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting Housing Officers with tenancy and estate management duties
* Attending home visits, estate walk‑abouts and community events
* Assisting with tenancy audits, property viewings and neighbourhood inspections
* Helping manage anti‑social behaviour and neighbour disputes
* Providing excellent customer service to tenants and residents
* Supporting the team with administrative duties, including managing inboxes and maintaining records
* Learning about housing legislation, tenancy enforcement and legal processes
* Working with internal teams and external partners to support local communities
* Promoting safeguarding, equality, diversity and health and safety practices at all times
Pre‑Employment Checks:

* Two completed references
* Occupational Health questionnaire – Fit for Work
* DBS check (if required for the role)
* Completion of all new starter documentation including signed terms and conditions
What We’re Looking For:
* 5 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
* A willingness to complete a Level 3 Housing and Property Management qualification
* A genuine interest in housing and neighbourhood services
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
* Excellent organisational and customer service skills
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A willingness to learn and take direction
* The ability to work in a busy environment and meet deadlines

Interview Details
Candidates will be invited to attend an interview, which will include a competency‑based discussion exploring relevant experience, knowledge, and skills required for the role. Interviews will take place on Thursday 4th June at our Liverpool City Centre office.
