Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Fixed Term 12 month contract for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Featherstone, a Category C Prison located in Wolverhampton.
HMP Featherstone is a male prison with a population of 678 males. This is a training prison with a layout of 7 wings. The role is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract starting as soon as possible until May 2027. Ideally we are looking for someone who has prison experience and has prison vetting.
Hours
* Monday – Sunday service – 37.5 hours per week
* Weekdays – 7am – 6:30pm
* Weekends – 8:30am – 5:30pm (every other weekend)
* 8‑week rolling rota
Salary
Full‑time. Annual salary between £34,428 and £41,659, depending on experience.

Requirements
* Registered nurse (Adult) – NMC
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working
* A non‑judgemental and compassionate approach
* Excellent communication skills
* Legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers are subject to additional vetting and security checks.
* Experience in a hospital, community or prison environment (ideal but not essential)
Responsibilities
* Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions
* Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
* Provide nurse‑led clinics to your patient group while being supported by a multi‑disciplinary team
* Deliver outstanding evidence‑based care to patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback to personalise care
* Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi‑disciplinary teams
