Hays are now looking for an Oracle Lead Developer for one of our local clients:
1. Circa £450 p/d Outside IR35
2. 6 month+ contract
3. Location is Glasgow
In the role you will drive the design and development of high-quality database solutions. You’ll play a key role in shaping technical direction, collaborating with stakeholders, and mentoring developers within a fast-paced delivery environment.
What you will be doing
4. Lead the analysis, design, and development of Oracle database solutions (Oracle 19c)
5. Develop and optimiseplex PL/SQL (procedures, packages, functions, views)
6. Collaborate closely with architects and business stakeholders to define solutions
7. Produce and maintain clear Technical Design Documents (TDDs)
8. Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
9. Own the full SDLC – from design through to testing and deployment
10. Act as a key point of contact for development, ensuring effectivemunication across teams
11. Work with project managers and business analysts to align delivery with timelines and requirements
12. Provide technical input into design decisions and project planning
13. Support and mentor junior and mid-level developers
What we are looking for
14. Strong experience as an Oracle Developer with Oracle 19c
15. Advanced knowledge of PL/SQL development and database design
16. Proven experience leading development efforts or small teams
17. Experience creating technical documentation such as TDDs
18. Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimisation
19. Familiarity with version control tools ( Git, SVN, PVCS)
20. Experience with tools like JIRA and Confluence
21. Exposure to Oracle Forms/Reports (D2K) or Oracle Hub
22. Knowledge of AWS, explain plans, and reporting tools (nice to have)
