Whinhill Medical Practice, in Aberdeen, is looking for two forward thinking Patient Navigators to join our friendly team and support all other functions in delivering outstanding patient care, utilising a variety of platforms including front of house (reception), back office support functions and telephone services.
You will form part of our front of house team to provide patient focused telephone and administration services that assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professionals.
The successful candidate will ideally have prior experience within a GP practice, and will be a confident communicator with a friendly and welcoming nature.
You will have exceptional interpersonal skills, experience of using IT systems and work well under pressure. Working as part of a team who really care about putting our patients first will be a huge motivator for you.

The job holder will have to:
1. greet patients and visitors, advising them of their appointments and checking them in
2. advise patients on self-check in facilities
3. receive and make calls as required with the ability to handle heavy phone/patient traffic
4. divert calls and take messages as appropriate
5. sort, review and distribute incoming internal mail
6. process outgoing mail following the procedure
7. pull, file and photocopy patient’s paper records
8. scan and attach patients’ data to patients’ electronic records
9. ensure the reception area is left tidy and ready for use by other colleagues, together with any hand-over information
10. receiving all incoming deliveries, opening and distributing accordingly
11. complete the Surgery Administration, including registrations and deductions
Therefore, the successful candidate must:
12. desirably have prior experience as patient navigator
13. be confident using the phone
14. have a good level of IT skills
15. be friendly and welcoming; patient and understanding
16. be able to follow instructions and procedures
17. have good organisation and communication skills
18. work accurately and methodically
19. be able to work with all types of people
