Job Overview
We're looking for a hands-on, inspirational General Manager to lead and grow our successful and profitable flagship coffeeshop and bar on Whiteladies Road. This is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership of a busy, vibrant site and deliver great results for both our guests and our team.
What you'll be doing
* Running day-to-day operations on the floor — you'll lead by example, visible and present.
* Driving the key measures: customer satisfaction, labour controls, profit margin, as well as building our food & drink offer.
* Hiring, training, and developing a motivated, high-performing team.
* Managing budgets, stock, and labour to keep costs under control.
* Delivering excellent hospitality standards, ensuring every guest leaves happy.
* Contributing new ideas for menu, events, and promotions to keep Bakesmiths fresh and exciting.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience as a General Manager in hospitality (café, restaurant, or bar) — or a very strong Assistant Manager ready to step up.
* A hands-on leader who thrives in a busy service environment.
* Commercially astute — confident with numbers, costs, and business performance.
* A people person who inspires, supports, and develops their team.
* Passionate about food, drink, and delivering a memorable customer experience.
Able to work to lead a team unsupervised as an 'owner manager'
