CNC Machinist / Precision Machining Operative
£34,000-£36,000 | Full-time | 48 hours per week

A well-established precision manufacturing business is looking to strengthen its machine shop team with an experienced CNC Machinist. This is a hands-on role within a clean, structured production environment, ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, consistency and producing high-quality components.
This opportunity is open to candidates from any precision engineering or manufacturing background – sector experience is far less important than attitude, skill and attention to detail.
The role
You’ll be part of a close-knit machining team responsible for producing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances. The role offers variety, responsibility and long-term stability within a well-run manufacturing operation.
Key responsibilities:
* Operating CNC turning and/or milling machines
* Using manual machinery where required
* Working from engineering drawings, job cards and machining instructions
* Completing first-off and in-process inspection checks
* Accurately recording work using shop-floor systems
* Supporting production flow to meet deadlines
* Maintaining high standards of quality, safety and housekeeping
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in a machining or precision manufacturing environment
* Hands-on experience with CNC turning and/or milling machines
* Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
* Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused approach
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, production-led environment
* Reliable, proactive and team-oriented
* Physically fit and happy in a hands-on role
What’s on offer
* Salary of £30,000 – £33,000 depending on experience
