Overview
As Operational Manager with the Buckinghamshire Archives Service, you will play a key role in preparing the service for relocation from Aylesbury to High Wycombe and overseeing public engagement. The archives cover over 800 years of Buckinghamshire history, available in the Searchroom (Aylesbury) and online via the Virtual Searchroom.

The Archives Service is a small, innovative team committed to delivering excellent service for Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes residents. We manage archives for the National Paralympic Heritage Trust and partner with other organisations to engage diverse communities.
About the Role
You will lead a team to deliver day‑to‑day operations, manage the relocation, and direct customer service, community engagement and health and safety.
Responsibilities
* Manage day‑to‑day running of the Archives Service and a team.
* Lead planning and execution of the move to High Wycombe, ensuring reopening readiness.
* Provide customer‑service leadership and engage community audiences.
* Maintain health and safety standards and compliance.
* Coordinate manual handling tasks required by the role.

* Proven experience in team management, setting goals and monitoring performance.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage conflicting priorities and deliver outcomes.
