Database Administrator Location: UK-based | Hybrid (Swindon or London) Salary: Up to £65,000 Bonus Edenred PayTech is seeking a skilled and adaptable Database Administrator to join our in-house database team and support the performance, resilience, and compliance of our diverse database estate. As we continue our cloud-first transformation, this role will play a key part in supporting mission-critical workloads and driving database optimisation across PostgreSQL, Oracle, and other platforms. You’ll collaborate closely with developers, architects, and DevOps teams to ensure our data infrastructure is secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs. What You’ll Do Administer and optimise databases across Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, Oracle Exadata and AWS RDS (Oracle and MariaDB/MySql) Help lead the migration of high-performance Oracle Database workloads to Aurora PostgreSQL Design and implement schemas, indexing strategies, and partitioning for scalable performance Ensure database security and compliance with PCI DSS, AML, and other regulatory frameworks Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies Monitor database health and performance using modern tooling and automation Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code frameworks What You Bring Core Skills Hands-on exposure as a DBA in production environments across PostgreSQL and Oracle Proven track record of supporting and migrating enterprise workloads Strong understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and query optimisation Familiarity with AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM Experience implementing security controls, encryption, and auditing Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory standards Desirable Extras Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other IaC tools Familiarity with monitoring platforms like CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar Exposure to replication tools such as AWS DMS or Oracle GoldenGate Comfortable working in agile, collaborative environments with DevOps teams Why Edenred PayTech?
