To provide an elite level of physiotherapy service to the Academy and assist the Senior Academy Physiotherapist with the operational management of the Academy medical department at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of physiotherapy to schoolboy players and will be expected to be pitch side for training and matches. Additionally, the candidate will need to upload and maintain medical records on the Football Intelligence Platform (FIP) daily.
Main Duties
1. Lead assessment, rehabilitation, and pitch-side first aid of the academy age groups.
2. Provide line management to U9-16 therapists and assist with U18 and U21 squads as needed.
3. Assist in department management duties such as maintaining audit documentation, ensuring compliance with cardiac screening, arranging diagnostic imaging and specialist appointments, insurance pre-authorisation, medical supply ordering, and ensuring medical provision for PDP fixtures (doctor/paramedic).
4. Maintain all professional certifications required for the role (ATMMiF/ITMMiF, HCPC, CSP).
5. Be punctual for all training sessions and fixtures; ensure medical equipment is pitch-side and ready.
6. Represent the club professionally, maintaining confidentiality on all medical matters.
7. Communicate effectively with staff, including PDP coaches and the Sport Science and Medicine team.
8. Develop and implement injury prevention and rehabilitation programmes.
9. Assist with assessments of players' fitness and injury status alongside the Club Doctor/Senior Physiotherapist.
10. Provide a comprehensive range of treatments suitable for a Category Two academy.
11. Stay updated with current Sport Science and Medicine literature.
12. Coordinate medical education for players regarding recovery and doping.
13. Arrange and conduct medical examinations, including pre-signing, assessments, and return-to-play evaluations.
14. Record injuries, SOAP notes, and rehabilitation sessions on FIP within 24 hours; scan results and consultations promptly.
15. Organise casual staff rotas for training and matches.

* BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
* Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
* HCPC Registration
* FA Level 5 ATMMiF (or working towards)
* Appropriate DBS Certification
Desirable:
* MSc Physiotherapy or equivalent
* UK Full, Clean Driving License
