We are seeking a Research Assistant with a strong academic background in Psychology to join us in exploring deeper player engagement and emotional connection in our video game projects. This is a rare opportunity to join an independent, creatively driven studio at the early stages of development.
As part of our team, you'll be responsible for conducting research into players behaviour and emotional engagement, and work with us to explore how this understanding can shape the player experience. This is a 6-month fixed term contract.
What you will do:
Conduct research on topics including (but not limited to) emotional engagement and narrative psychology.
Present clear and detailed reports.
Assist in the development of interactive content design strategies.
Work independently and collaboratively with our creative team.
A degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline.
Interest in positive-psychology and how it can influence interactive content.
Ability to clearly communicate complex subjects to non-academic audiences.
Based in (or able to reliably commute to) Manchester.
What we offer:
The chance to work closely and gain real industry experience with a tight-knit, creative, and passionate team.
A collaborative studio culture that values experimentation in game design.
We value flexibility and work-life balance, offering a supportive environment where your wellbeing and research can thrive.
