Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the vascular ward at Glan Clwyd hospital, providing specialist Podiatry care to patients with vascular-related foot conditions. You will work under the guidance of our experienced Specialist Podiatrist, who leads inpatient services and emergency quadrant work. This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth, supported by a structured development framework. You will also have the chance to collaborate with our expanding Diabetic Foot Ulcer Team, allowing for cross-team support and further learning opportunities. North Wales offers a fantastic quality of life, with breath-taking mountain and coastal scenery. We’re well connected to Chester, Liverpool, Manchester, and Cheshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and passionate podiatrist looking to make a difference and grow within a supportive, dynamic team. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

* Be part of a highly motivated team, with at least five years NHS post-registration experience, working independently in both community and acute settings, providing a high standard of quality clinical care.
* Provide assessment and treatment of lower limb vascular patients within the vascular ward, working closely with medical staff and other allied health professionals.
* Provide communication links across secondary, primary and community care for vascular patients.
* Take a lead role in the assessment and treatment of service users referred to the podiatry department who may have complex and/or chronic presentations.
* Assess, diagnose, develop and implement individual programmes of care for your own caseload of service users, presenting with a wide range of clinical needs including acute and chronic neuropathies, chronic diseases, vascular problems and wound management, guided by broad operational policies.
* Assist the Head of Podiatry Services with procurement of medical and surgical equipment as required, and support operational and administrative functions, statistical analysis and quality initiatives.

Qualifications And/or Knowledge

* Degree or equivalent in Podiatry
* Health and Care Professions Council Registered Podiatrist.

* Postgraduate training or equivalent level
