Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Qualified or Trainee Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team 1 x Saturday half day per Month (could increase to a full day if agreeable). The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care while ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of dental hygiene practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with dentists and other dental professionals.
Responsibilities
* Perform simple and thorough dental cleans, root scaling or airpolishing procedures to remove plaque, tartar, and stains from teeth as per patient treatment plans.
* Being able to work in a team with the Dentists, nurses and practice manager to deliver an excellent patient journey. Patients will be coming as direct access to hygienist or via initially being examined and treatment planned by the dentist.
* Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including demonstrations of interdental cleaning and electric toothbrush, tailored advice, and the importance of regular dental check-ups /liason with a dentist.
* Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
* Ensure correct handling of all dental instruments and preparation of the surgery for patients for procedures in accordance with practice policies and health and safety protocols.
* Collaborate with the dental team to enhance overall patient care and clinic efficiency, including maintaining CPD compliance
Qualifications
* Valid Dental Hygiene licence or equivalent qualification /training recognised in the UK.
* Strong knowledge of anatomy related to oral health, including teeth, gums, and surrounding structures.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients of all ages.
* Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated on best practices in dental hygiene.
