Job Description
The Legal Counsel (Data Protection & Compliance) will:
3. Provide legal advice on privacy and data protection matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Be instrumental in supporting the marketing teams with regards privacy implications within creative campaigns.
5. Draft, review, and negotiate data protection and privacy-related contracts and agreements.
6. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and training related to data protection and privacy.
7. Conduct impact assessments and advise on risk management strategies.
8. Manage the compliance frameworks.
9. Draft and implement new compliance policies.
10. Support on competition matters.
11. Monitor and interpret changes in laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.
12. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address data protection concerns and support business objectives.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Legal Counsel (Data Protection & Compliance) will be/have:
13. A qualified solicitor in England & Wales
14. Strong background in legal practice, with a focus on privacy and data protection law.
15. Proven experience in advising on regulatory compliance within the business services industry.
16. A solid understanding of relevant data protection laws, including GDPR, PECR.
17. Solid corporate compliance understanding.
18. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
19. The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
20. A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage complex legal issues effectively.
