An IT System Implementation Specialist is required for our client based in Leeds. This is a hybrid position, approx. 2 days per week on site.
Job overview;
* Experience in leading on software solution design, data migration, selection and implementation of core systems that support organisational objectives.
* Responsible for the development of procedures and strategies to support software testing and data migration to ensure technical quality assurance.
* Work in partnership with external delivery partners to achieve joint project objectives.
* Design, implement and maintain the systems required for delivery
Technical Duties;
* Responsible for analysis of requirements, evaluation of software packages, and implement of ICT solutions
* To be a subject matter expert in data management and public information systems and to use this specialism at all stages of a project and software life cycle ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards ie Naptan and TranXchange.
* Design interfaces to integrate various software systems to provide a seamless flow of information to manage transport network and fulfil requirements of various passenger information channels.
* Lead on the software testing of new ICT systems to fulfil key business outcomes and meet customer needs.
* Responsible for developing software testing strategies, planning and specification, functional and user acceptance testing, developing scenarios and test scripts, tracking and reporting progress, resolution of issues and advising on go-live planning.
* Utilising technical expertise to recommend corrective action plans and improvements in the resolution of defective or non-compliant software.
* Lead on all data migration actives within public transport ICT systems from beginning to end ensuring including planning/scoping, development of mappings between systems, cleanse and extract, transform and load, reconciliation.
* Participate in design reviews and utilise knowledge and expertise to provide input on requirements, product design and potential problems.
* Responsibility for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines for all migrated data.
Experience;
* Significant practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
* A thorough and demonstrable understanding of database systems and software gained through in depth/extensive professional experience
* Experience and up to date knowledge of public transport management systems, public transport passenger information systems and software testing techniques and methodologies - highly advantageous but not mandatory
* A working knowledge of ICT statutory and legislative requirements/standards (eg, ICT security principles, ISO27001).
* A thorough and demonstrable understanding of Cloud applications.
* Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies (such as PRINCE 2).
* Excellent data migration and manipulation skills using Microsoft technologies.
* Demonstrable ability to build a repeatable robust data migration plan that includes the appropriate reconciliation check points.
* The ability to problem-solve under pressure and in complex situations.
* Ability to demonstrate a methodical and logical approach to planning and organisation.
