Due to promotion within the team and increasing establishment exciting opportunities have arisen for an enthusiastic motivated and dynamic individual who can demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, a keen willingness to learn and provide excellent standards of nursing care to patients and their families.

Full time (37.5 HOURS) Various hours – for Level C (Alverstone Ward & Luccombe Ward)

The successful applicants must have an interest in trauma and emergency surgery, must be hard working, with good communication skills and be able to work well in a team.

The post involves working with all members of the multi-disciplinary team and you will need to be organised and able to prioritise your workload.

Individuals applying for this post will be required to provide support and supervision to Health Care Assistants and Student Nurses therefore a supervisor qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

· Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development, documentation, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care without direct supervision. All actions need to be in line with NMC codes and other statutory and organisational standards.

Maintain patient comfort, dignity and privacy at all times.

Liaise with patients, relatives and multi-disciplinary team.

Supervise unqualified staff and student nurses.

Demonstrate a continued commitment to professional development.

Maintain high standards of care in an environment, which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals.

Person specification

* Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration
* Physically capable of performing the role and responsibility expected of the post holder
* Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual and multi-disciplinary team
* Ability to organise workload
* Ability to adapt and respond to changing circumstances

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
