As a Band 6 Children's Occupational Therapist, you will provide a specialist and comprehensive Occupational Therapy service for children 0‑18 years and their families with a Herefordshire GP, focusing on Occupational Performance pathways.
Planning and management of your own caseload and interventions, providing specialist assessment and treatment and referring children to other specialist services as needed.
The interventions will take place in the most relevant environment for the child and their family – the home, therapy suite or schools.
We utilise the Balance System Approach across Children's Therapies. Developmental Band 5 to Band 6 position considered as appropriate.
Responsibilities
* Work as an autonomous practitioner in the community, within Herefordshire.
* Plan and organise own caseload according to the needs of children and the service.
* Use evidence‑based standardised and non‑standardised assessment tools, including observations, to establish functional ability and disability.
* Agree child‑focused aims, goals and objectives for all OT intervention.
* Design individual therapeutic treatment plans, carried out by yourself or delegated to OT support workers, families, carers or school staff.
* Refer children to other specialist services as required.
