About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development Manager to take full ownership of a growing organisation’s internal learning and development function. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building, shaping, and embedding L&D strategy, rather than simply delivering training. You will play a key role in developing capability across the business, ensuring employees have the skills, confidence, and knowledge to deliver high-quality outcomes in a regulated professional environment.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and develop the organisation’s L&D strategy and learning framework
* Design and deliver structured onboarding, leadership, and compliance training programmes
* Build competency frameworks and clear development pathways across the business
* Work closely with senior leaders to identify skills gaps and design targeted interventions
* Embed regulatory and compliance training across the organisation
* Maintain training records, reporting, and audit readiness requirements
* Measure and report on training effectiveness and impact
* Support managers in developing coaching and performance conversations
* Drive a culture of continuous learning and development
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in a Learning & Development role within a regulated environment (legal, financial services, insurance, claims, public sector, or similar)
* Confident designing and delivering structured training programmes end-to-end
* Able to influence and partner with senior stakeholders
* Strong in translating complex or regulatory content into engaging learning
* Highly organised with experience managing multiple priorities independently
* CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) desirable
