Job Description
Our Nottingham site has an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Coordinator to join their friendly team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
As a Health & Safety Coordinator, you will work closely with our internal Health and Safety, Quality, and Compliance teams to ensure the company maintains all required certifications (ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 & ISO 14001) and remains legally compliant in all health, safety, and quality activities.
Key Duties of a Health & Safety Coordinator:
* Implement improvement actions related to Major Accident Hazards (MAH).
* Ensure a suitable risk assessment process is in place to identify MAH scenarios.
* Maintain records for appointed contractors and scheduled site maintenance.
* Manage waste disposal and site hygiene.
* Maintain an effective competence management system.
* Understand and uphold all aspects of the Health and Safety Management System.
* Ensure plant and machinery are safe and compliant with legal standards.
* Provide guidance on statutory requirements and company standards.
* Undertake SHEQ risk assessments as required.
* Support managers with Health and Safety Risk Assessments / COSHH Assessments to meet legislative standards.
* Participate in health, safety, and environmental training and provide induction training for new staff, including agency workers.
* Advise on current H&S legislation, guidance, and best practices.
Qualifications
* Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation, good practices, and compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 is advantageous.
* Experience with Root Cause and Trend Analysis is desirable.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
* Good time management and problem-solving skills.
* Self-motivated and proactive team player.
* Keen eye for detail and methodical approach.
* IOSH qualification preferred.
