Specialist Dietitian - Post Covid Service

An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for anexperienced Dietitian with acute/community skills to join the Post-Covid multidisciplinary team. The role will contribute in the delivery of high standards of health care to patients with Post Covid syndrome both remotely and in face to face clinics across the area of Norfolk and Waveney. Gastroenterology experience helpful but not essential. This role does require a contribution to tasks relating to the day to day running of the team and provides service development opportunities.
The team are constantly striving to improve care for patients with Post-COVID syndrome. The role requires engagement with other healthcare professionals to support the modernisation of care delivery with frequent supervision.
We are looking for the right people for our team, who have a passion for patient centered, supportive care within a multi-professional team, with prior expertise, knowledge and training in complex, patient focused assessment, goal identification, coaching and self-management with a strong understanding of physical health and mental wellbeing and the possible symptoms and complications for patients in Post-Covid syndrome.

Main duties of the job
To act as clinical specialist in the Post-COVID Service for dietetics and advise and contribute to Trust policies related to this speciality, following national and international guidelines, e.g. NICE and Department of Health.
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work
To be a senior clinical resource to work with the Team Lead on the implementation and development of the Post-COVID Service.
To identify future opportunities to drive subsequent phases of the Post-COVID Service in line with NHS England National Strategy.
To be involved and lead when required in the delivery of high standards of health care to any patient registered with a Norfolk or Waveney GP, by coordinating and delivering assessments, planning and implementing and evaluating health care for patients following COVID.
To co-ordinate practice, procedures / systems for the team and provide clinical support within own area of expertise including clinical assessment delivery.
To develop and sustain working relationships with the partners delivering the Post-COVID Service processes and patient focussed planning.

Job responsibilities
Clinically lead on service development, performance, management, and profession of the Post-COVID Service, and to further develop the service as required.
To participate on the development and maintenance of policies and procedures for Post-COVID Service
To participate in the development and maintenance of processes and pathways for Post-COVID Service .
To provide professional leadership to own professional group and Post-COVID Assessment Service colleagues where appropriate, and develop the role of Post-COVID Service
To work with all health, social care, and wellbeing professionals, and statutory/non statutory agencies to provide a holistic and seamless, integrated, service to our patients
To identify and lead service development opportunities as required within Post-COVID Service
Person Specification
Qualifications
* BSc Nutrition & Dietetics or equivalent
* Accredited BDA courses at Masters level or equivalent experience in the specialist area
* Recognised qualification in management
* Evidence of CPD e.g. advanced diploma in dietetic practice or equivalent short courses
* Clinical Supervisory Skills course for training student Dietitians or equivalent experience
* Postgraduate training in counselling, behaviour change and motivational interviewing
Experience
* Extensive experience in Clinical Dietetics, a significant period of which should be in a relevant specialist area
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
* Experience of teaching NHS/non NHS staff and patients
* Ability to work flexibly and in a variety of healthcare settings
* Experience of line managing staff
* Experience of supervising student dieticians
* Experience of conducting audits and/or research
