About Us:
Lyon & Lyle is a fast-growing, customer-focused landscaping and exterior works company serving Glasgow and surrounding areas. We specialise in fencing, decking, and general landscaping. Known for our clean finishes, reliable service, and attention to detail — we’re now looking to hire a dependable, experienced Team Leader to manage the day-to-day delivery of our projects on-site.
The Role:
We’re looking for a hands-on Team Leader with strong fencing and landscaping experience to lead a small team, manage site operations, and ensure our work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
You’ll be responsible for installing fences, sleepers, decking, pergolas and completing landscaping such as turfing and slabbing — while also coordinating labour, materials, and communicating progress directly to the director.
Key Responsibilities:
* Install a variety of fencing systems (timber, composite, etc.)
* Build decking (softwood/composite), pergolas, planters, and sleeper features
* Oversee basic slabbing, turfing, and landscaping tasks
* Lead and motivate a small on-site team
* Manage tools, equipment, and site organisation
* Communicate clearly with the director about job progress
* Ensure a high-quality finish on all projects
* Maintain a clean, safe, and professional worksite
* Liaise with customers where needed, professionally and respectfully
About You:
* Minimum 3 years’ experience in fencing and landscaping
* Proven skills in fencing, decking, pergolas, and other timber structures
* Comfortable leading a small team and taking charge on-site
* Organised, punctual, and solution-focused
* Good communicator with a positive attitude
* Able to work independently and meet project deadlines
* Driving licence preferred but not essential
