An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and motivated Band 6 Senior Nurses/Practitioners to join our Emergency Care team and play a key role in the development of our brand-new Urgent Treatment Centre, due to open in Autumn 2026.

Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Senior Nurse/Practitioner, you will act as a senior registered professional within the Emergency Department and Urgent Treatment Centre, providing expert assessment, triage and clinical decision‑making for patients presenting with urgent care needs.
You will be instrumental in ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time, while supporting safe patient flow and delivering high standards of clinical care.
As one of the senior clinicians within the service, you will also provide day‑to‑day leadership, support and supervision to junior colleagues, helping to foster a culture of learning, development and compassionate care.
Qualifications
* First level registered nurse with a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Degree in Nursing or a relevant clinical professional such as paramedic.
Experience
* 2 years' experience working in a ED and or UTC or equivalent setting.
Knowledge and Skills
* Demonstrate skills and knowledge of working within all areas of ED, including resuscitation, triage, minors and majors.
* Ability to organise own workload whilst supervising others.
* Good analytical skills and able to recognise deterioration.
* Good organisational and time‑management skills.
* Leadership skills, including good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Skills and knowledge within a UTC setting such as wound care etc.
Disclosure and Barring Service Check
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary
£39,959 to £48,117 a year per annum pro rata if part time.
