Job Summary
North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) is recruiting a part‑time (5 PAs) old‑age consultant psychiatrist into a new post in an established Enfield Older Adults Division. The position has arisen from the Patient Benefit Case Older Adult Community Transformation work. It is a fixed‑term locum role while RCPsych approval is sought for the substantive job and lasts six months.
Job Location
Warwick Centre, Chase Farm Hospital, Enfield, EN2 8JL. The role requires travel within Barnet, Enfield and Haringey to undertake home visits and some ward visits at Chase Farm.
Pay
Pay scheme: Hospital medical and dental staff.
Grade: Consultant.
Salary: £109,725 to £145,478 a year plus £2,162 of London Zone Weighting per annum.

Responsibilities
Manage, appraise and supervise junior medical staff in accordance with Trust policies and the Medical Director’s directives.
Ensure compliance with the Working Time Directive, professional conduct reporting, and the GMC, RCPsych and local statutory requirements (Mental Health Act, Code of Practice, Mental Capacity Act, Children’s Act).
Participate in annual appraisals, job‑plan reviews, and the Trust’s academic and CPD programmes.
Record clinical activity accurately and support the Information Department.
Maintain confidentiality, safe discharge procedures, and user‑included care processes.
Promote equitable access for all ethnic groups and ensure successful multidisciplinary working.
Support financial management of services and maintain relationships with GPs, Social Services and voluntary sector organisations.
Person Specification – Qualifications (Essential)
* MBBS or equivalent qualification.

* Higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.

* Full registration with the GMC, current licence to practise at start date.
* On or within six months of the GMC Specialist Register.
