Teaching Assistant (Full Time) - Including Personal Care Responsibilities

We are supporting a primary school in Nottingham seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive team on a full-time basis. This role involves providing 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs and includes personal care responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide 1:1 support to a child with special educational needs (SEN), under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo.
2. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support learning both inside and outside the classroom.
3. Help pupils develop independence, confidence, and self-esteem.
4. Provide personal care, including toileting, changing, and other hygiene-related tasks, with dignity and sensitivity.
5. Support the pupil during break/lunch times and transitions throughout the day.
6. Communicate effectively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals.
7. Promote inclusion, positive behaviour, and social interaction.
Essential Criteria:
1. Experience working with children, especially those with additional needs.
2. A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach.
3. Willingness and ability to provide personal care.
4. Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths or equivalent).
5. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Desirable:
1. Experience in an SEN setting or supporting children with EHCPs.
2. Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 TA qualification or equivalent.
3. First Aid or Manual Handling training.
