Ashworth Grange is seeking a Caretaker with proven experience in maintenance, building, DIY, cleaning, and housekeeping. The ideal candidate will possess technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, and preferably some IT skills. Additionally, communication skills should be empathetic and considerate, ensuring positive interactions with residents and colleagues.
The Caretaker's responsibilities include ensuring residents live in a well-maintained, proactively inspected environment. This involves conducting audits, maintaining accurate records, and performing repairs such as replacing taps, fitting extractor fans, repairing windows, or decorating, always with kindness and professionalism.
Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. The candidate must be able to recognize signs of potential abuse, harm, or neglect, know the procedures to follow, and report concerns appropriately. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training relevant to their role and pursue additional training as needed. The ability to seek advice and escalate concerns is essential.
