The Saga Cruise Finance team is recruiting for their busy accounts receivable team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring banking journals are completed accurately and timely, reconciling the bank, and resolving banking queries.
This is a critical role within a central finance function, coordinating with various finance teams internally within Cruise and cross-divisionally.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in working closely with treasury, gaining exposure to banking controls, compliance, and reporting, while supporting the wider accounts receivable and finance team with ad hoc tasks, including ownership of reconciliations.
Role Requirements:
* Visit the Folkestone office in Sandgate 3 times a week; 2 days working from home
Role Responsibilities
In our Accounts Receivable team, your key responsibilities will include:
* Adhering to our Business Code of Conduct, acting with integrity and due diligence
* Uploading statements to the general ledger system and reconciling the bank
* Liaising with internal finance teams, treasury, and cross-divisional finance teams to ensure visibility and accuracy
* Reporting FX, currency accounts, and internal movements accurately and promptly
* Monitoring card payments and resolving discrepancies to minimize customer impact
* Approving refunds to ensure compliance
* Managing cheque payments and refund runs accurately and compliantly
* Supporting ad hoc queries and team members, including holiday cover
* Preparing financial due diligence checks for potential suppliers
* Supporting process improvements and coordinating actions proactively
The Ideal Candidate
Suitable candidates will have prior experience in accounts receivable and be eager to develop their finance career within a large, customer-facing business like Saga. Experience in finance functions and an interest in studying AAT, ACCA, or CIMA are preferred.
Skills and experience required include:
* Experience with finance journals
* Proficiency with MS Office
* Strong communication skills, as a primary contact within the finance team
* Accuracy and self-review skills
* Organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage expectations
* Flexibility to manage multiple tasks under pressure
* Ability to identify training needs and bridge knowledge gaps
