Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. To maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment within the doctor's surgery, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are met in line with infection control guidelines, health and safety regulations, and the surgery's policies.
* Previous cleaning experience in a commercial, healthcare, or public setting.
* Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
* Understanding of infection control and the importance of hygiene in a healthcare environment.
Working hours
Monday to Friday
Responsibilities
* Clean all designated areas of the surgery, including waiting rooms, consultation rooms, treatment rooms, offices, toilets, staff areas, and communal spaces.
* Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
* Emptying bins and replacing liners.
* Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, sinks, toilets, and clinical areas.
* Replenishing soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and other consumables.
* Follow infection prevention and control procedures, including appropriate use of cleaning agents and colour-coded equipment.
* Handle cleaning chemicals safely, in accordance with COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
* Safely operate cleaning machinery (e.g., floor buffer, carpet cleaner), if required.
* Report any maintenance or health and safety issues to the Practice Manager.
* Ensure cleaning equipment is kept in good working order and stored safely.
* Adhere to confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection policies when working in a healthcare environment.
Essential

* Awareness of health and safety practices, including COSHH.
* Good attitude to work and willingness to learn.
Desirable
* Experience cleaning in a medical or clinical setting.
* Training in infection control or health and safety.
* Flexibility to work additional hours if required.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £12.21-£13.21 per hour
