We’re Hiring: Research Grants Administrators (x3) Twickenham, West LondonAre you organised, detail driven, and passionate about supporting research that makes a real world impact? The NIHR Operations Team is looking for three motivated individuals to join us as Research Grants Administrators.In this role, you’ll manage health and social care research funding, delivering end-to-end grant processes that turn innovative studies into tangible improvements in health and wellbeing.Why This Role Matters:Every grant you manage and process you improve directly supports research that saves lives and advances healthcare across the UK.About Us:The NIHR, funded by the Department of Health and Social Care, is the UK’s largest funder of health and social care research. We deliver world leading studies that improve health, wellbeing and economic growth. Our GMG (Grant Management Group) Operations Team provides operational and management support to ensure these programs succeed.What You’ll Do:Manage and administer research grant applications from start to finishEnsure compliance with funding policies, deadlines and reporting requirementsLiaise with researchers, stakeholders and internal teams to support high quality outputsSupport initiatives that demonstrate the impact of NIHR funded researchManage research funding competitions, tracking progress and reporting at meetingsAct as a key contact for external enquiries and communicate with applicants, reviewers, committee members and colleaguesPrepare competition content for publication and assist with RMS setup and testingConduct initial checks on proposals and manage application dataCoordinate expert peer reviewers and manage applicant responsesProduce committee papers and support virtual and in person meetings, including scoring and conflict-of-interest managementPrepare outcome letters and handle follow up queriesPost-award support includes:Managing contracts, electronic signatures and progress reportingMaintaining accurate records and supporting annual impact data collectionContributing to projects, data analysis and occasional travel to committee meetingsAbout You:Experience in an administrative, process driven, or project delivery environment is essential. Knowledge or experience in grant administration or health/research related environments is beneficial. Essential CriteriaEducated to a minimum of A Level standard or equivalentAt least 12 months’ administrative experience in a structured, deadline driven environmentStrong IT skills with experience using Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, Calendar) and the ability to learn bespoke research management systemsExperience in accurate data handling, record keeping and maintaining high standards of confidentiality and governanceDesirable CriteriaInterest in health and social care research and its impact on patient outcomes and public healthBackground or experience in healthcare, health sciences, research administration, or a related field Key Skills & CompetenciesExceptional attention to detail, managing accurate records across complex, high volume informationStrong information management skills, gathering and validating data from multiple sourcesExcellent organisation and time management, prioritising competing deadlinesProactive, solution focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvementClear, professional communication and a collaborative team working approachCompensation, Benefits & Working Arrangements:Salary: £32,000 per yearLocation: Twickenham, London / Hybrid working modelContract Type: Permanent, Full TimeWorking Hours: 37.5 hours per weekAnnual Leave: 25 days, plus UK public holidaysEmployee Benefits Include:Annual, discretionary bonusEnhanced Contributory Pension SchemeLife Insurance CoverBenenden Healthcare MembershipTraining and Development OpportunitiesSeason Ticket LoanNB: We offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, flexible working arrangements.
