Main duties of the job
This appointment is for a consultant in community General Adult Psychiatry, covering half of the Kerrier CMHT. The other consultant post in the Kerrier team is currently held by Dr. Adam Rose.
The Kerrier CMHT, with its two consultant psychiatrist posts, covers a total population of approximately 93,000. There is a planned demand and capacity mapping funded by Health Education England (CLEAR - Clinically-Led Workforce Activity and Redesign) across community mental health services in Cornwall, which may lead to boundary changes over the coming years.
The post-holder will cover clinics across the Lizard Peninsula. Outpatient clinics are primarily held at The Basset Unit on the Longreach Hospital site, and also at Helston Community Hospital.
The consultant contributes to clinical leadership within the team but is only medically responsible for individuals they have contact with. The role does not include care coordination.
