Section Supervisor – Signalling
Location: Brighton Stroudley Road, Brighton.
Salary: £62,830 – £64,292 (IMC3 non Phase 2bc).
Hours: Full-time. Shift pattern: Days, nights and weekends.
About the Role
Supervise specialist teams and ensure safe, efficient delivery of signalling works across the station and surrounding infrastructure. Support career growth towards senior leadership positions.
Responsibilities
* Lead specialist teams: supervise conductor rail operations, conduct regular briefings.
* Plan & coordinate: schedule and deliver works safely in collaboration across disciplines.
* Develop management expertise: manage rosters, monitor fatigue and assess team competencies.
* Ensure quality & compliance: supervise and verify quality of works, implement safe systems of work, conduct inspections.
* Drive efficiency: develop work plans, support asset renewal proposals, allocate resources.
* Maintain records & standards: update systems, undertake surveillance, conduct compliance reviews.
* Commit to development: support growth of self and colleagues.
Qualifications
* Experience supervising worksites and ensuring safe, efficient delivery.
* Knowledge of resource planning and work organisation processes.
* Understanding of signalling inspection, maintenance, renewal and asset assessment techniques.
* Familiarity with relevant standards, procedures and instructions.
* Awareness of cost and waste control techniques.
* Ability to promote and embed safe working behaviours.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to coach, influence and develop others.
* Holder or working towards NVQ Level 2 or 3 (or equivalent).
* Full driving licence and willingness to drive as required.
