Join an established SME manufacturing business situated between Gloucester and Cheltenham. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to lead quality and HSE matters within a modern manufacturing environment.
The Role – Quality & HSE Manager
As the Quality & HSE Manager you will be responsible for:
* Developing and implementing a site‑wide quality strategy aligned with business and customer objectives.
* Partnering with Production, Engineering & Supply Chain teams to integrate quality across operations.
* Maintaining and continuously improving the QMS in line with ISO standards.
* Planning and leading internal audits, coordinating external and customer audits.
* Monitoring and analysing process capability and product conformance through key metrics.
* Leading root‑cause investigations using structured problem‑solving tools (8D, 5 Whys).
* Managing supplier quality performance through audits, scorecards, and improvement plans.
* Overseeing customer returns and complaint processes (CRNs).
* Maintaining and improving EHS management systems.
* Coordinating risk assessments, safe systems of work and training.
* Leading on quality matters for Production, Engineering, Supply Chain and Service.
* Coaching teams in standard work and structured problem solving and verifying CAPA effectiveness.
* Designing and delivering concise, practical training (inspection methods, control plans, etc.).
* Promoting Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance product quality.
* Coordinating Quality, Environmental and H&S data gathering to support Group reporting.
Background – Quality & HSE Manager
* Preferably a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field.
* Notable experience in quality/HSE roles within manufacturing.
* Evidence of ownership of QMS processes.
* Proven leadership experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams.
* ISO 9001 (and familiarity with ISO 14001/45001).
* Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem‑solving experience.
* Experience with SAP Business One (or equivalent ERP) coverage.
* Experience with QMS/DMS such as Q‑Pulse (or equivalent QMS).
