We are looking for a highly motivated and organised Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement Assistant to join our ambitious team!
Your primary objectives will be to act as a warm and friendly first point of contact for all alumni and donor enquiries, and to provide a range of administrative and operational support to the Philanthropy, Alumni and Supporter Engagement Team (PASE).
An understanding of the importance of university philanthropy and alumni engagement is vital, as is a passion for delivering high-quality customer service, a positive attitude, and a friendly approach. The drive to develop yourself and learn new skills is also essential.
This role would be particularly suitable for a recent graduate. Previous administrative experience would be advantageous, as would existing knowledge or skills in customer service, communications, or fundraising.
Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake a series of regular administrative tasks designed to support the ongoing work of the Alumni and Supporter Engagement teams.
2. Act as a primary contact for alumni, donor, and scholar enquiries by telephone, email, and in person, providing an excellent level of service to all external and internal stakeholders.
3. Support the delivery of alumni and donor communications and events.
4. Assist with researching and sourcing volunteers from within the alumni and donor community to support various activities, such as delivering guest lectures, offering student placements, and speaking at employability events.
5. Assist with maintaining the integrity of the database by ensuring accurate records and adherence to all database protocols, including Data Protection legislation.
A bit about Marketing, Recruitment, and External Relations…
The role sits within the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and External Relations, the ‘front door’ of the University. We provide a range of activities to engage with our external stakeholders, including graduates, students, businesses, and the local community.
Within the PASE Team, we are dedicated to maintaining lifelong relationships with our graduates. We identify and unlock sources of philanthropic funding from alumni, charitable trusts and foundations, and corporate partners to benefit our students, campus, and communities.
