Flood Risk Consultant
Location: Manchester
Salary: GBP32,000 – GBP35,000
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy known for its expertise in ground investigation, project planning, and environmental engineering. The role will involve a challenging array of projects within the flood risk sector, based in the culturally rich city of Manchester.

Responsibilities
* Producing Flood Risk Assessments for planning applications
* Creating conceptual drainage strategies, including Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
* Liaising with clients and stakeholders throughout project durations
* Overseeing a diverse range of projects across sectors
* Contributing to Geo‑Environmental Investigation Reports
Required skills and experience
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline
* Demonstrable experience in a design role within a UK‑based consultancy setting
* Extensive experience producing Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs) and drainage strategies
* Proficiency with relevant software, including Causeway Flow, InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, GIS, etc.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a high‑performing team
* Strong ability to meet deadlines and maintain high standards under pressure
* Experience liaising with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
* Actively working towards Chartered Status
* Full, valid UK driving licence
Desirable skills and experience
* Outstanding literacy and numeracy skills, particularly for report writing
