Job Description : Positive Behaviour Support Assistant Pay : £30,000 per annum Refer a Friend Scheme - £250 awarded (T&C's apply) Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals with diverse needs? If so, we invite you to apply for our exciting opportunity as a Positive Behaviour Support Assistant! Being able to travel is essential in this role and flexibility required. Frinton-on-sea is where you will be based a minimum of three days per week. Please note we are not a recruitment agency. About Us: We are committed to Equal Opportunities. We a specialist care provider supporting individual adults that have a learning disability and or are on the autism spectrum, particularly those with significant behaviours that are behaviours of concern. This includes adults with additional mental health support needs and sensory processing needs. The care provided will be within their own home, a home that they have chosen, this will be domiciliary service where the care team visit the individual in their own home to deliver the support that they require. Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive assessments to understand the unique needs and preferences of individuals. • Develop and implement personalised Positive Behaviour Support plans tailored to enhance each individual's quality of life. • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including caregivers, families, and other professionals, to ensure a holistic and integrated approach to support. • Provide ongoing training and guidance to support staff, caregivers, and family members in the implementation of Positive Behaviour Support strategies. • Utilise evidence-based practices to address challenging behaviours and promote skill development. • Foster a culture of dignity and respect, valuing the individuality of each person we serve. • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, adjusting strategies as needed with support from the PBS lead. • Create easy read Positive behaviour support plans in a way the individual can understand how their needs will be met. • Systematically collect data on target behaviours and the effectiveness of interventions. Expectations of the role • Work alongside a PBS practitioner to analyse data and create reports for stakeholders, ensuring transparency and collaboration in the support process. • Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Positive Behaviour Support plan. • Minimum of three days per week in service to coach and guide the support team. Qualifications: The right candidate must hold one of the following: • Qualifications – level 2/3 or equivalent in Health & Social Care or Mental Health studies. • Desirable: • PBS qualification • Education in behaviour support • Be willing to work towards a diploma in PBS. • Teaching qualification The right candidate must be able to evidence the following: • Experience in developing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support plans. • Strong communication and collaboration skills. • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for improving the lives of others. • Ability to adapt to various environments and work collaboratively within a team.
