An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Royal London and Mile End Hospitals as our Deputy Director of Nursing and Governance.

The role will report directly to the Hospital Director of Nursing, you will be accountable for supporting the delivery of the professional nursing agenda at The Royal London and Mile End Hospitals. The role has specific focus on quality, end of life, mental health education, governance as well as professional practice, research and innovation and patient experience.


Main duties of the job

We are looking for a skilled compassionate and inclusive leader who will provide strong professional leadership across all care settings, encouraging innovation, creativity, and strategic thinking about service provision and staff experience.

The successful candidate will be joining a corporate nursing team who will support you so that you are able to flourish in the role alongside being a key player in the wider Barts Health NMAHP leadership community. There will be many opportunities for both personal and professional development.

Person Specification


Experience

* oSignificant nursing leadership experience at senior level.
* oEvidence of senior managerial responsibilities and operational experience in an acute setting.
* oAbility to analyse complex problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address them.


Skills

* oCapable of critical thinking and problem solving.
* oExcellent communication skills and presentation skills (written and in person).
* oHoned leadership through influence skills.
* oGood analytical & organisational ability.
* oAbility to influence and facilitate MDT working.
* oAwareness of developments in the NHS and service delivery.
* oAbility to develop or source professional development materials.


Qualifications

* oFirst Level registered nurse (child, adult or midwife)
* oEvidence of ongoing, relevant postgraduate education.
* oMasters level education or equivalent
