About the role
As a Customer Delivery Installer Porter, you'll be the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. You'll maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety regulations in our customers' homes. This non-driver role offers a great opportunity for those looking to develop their career in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs. You will need to complete a 13-week Porter training programme, after which you'll be qualified to install products including wet connections, TV, and Advanced Audio installations. At the end of the training, you'll be assessed to obtain your Installer Porter qualification.
Key Responsibilities
* Start your day at the delivery hub, then head out on route with responsibilities including:
* Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service.
* Helping load your lorry with the day's deliveries, working alongside the warehouse team.
* Showing respect and courtesy for the customer's home and handling unexpected situations professionally.
* Installing products efficiently and demonstrating their operation to customers.
* Keeping up to date with new products and technologies.
* Maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience
* Ability to cope with the physical demands of the role, including delivering large items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds, and mattresses.
Desirable skills/experience
* Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience with white goods installation, furniture assembly, or related skills.
