Overview
Our placements provide an opportunity to really learn how a business works. During your placement you will be hands on from day one, actively involved in business projects, and your experience and knowledge will be utilised and strengthened during the 13 months with us. You'll be based in our Weymouth office, working alongside experienced professionals and contributing to real business outcomes. The Module Test Team operates within the R&D department, specialised in the hands-on evaluation of newly developed or enhanced mechanical designs used in our printers. We have an opportunity for you to join the Module Test team and be able to put the knowledge and skills you have gained at university into practice.
Responsibilities
* Learn the skills for thriving in an engineering environment, including effective communication within the R&D team and across departments.
* Learn how to plan and design hardware tests, execute testing procedures, collect and process data, perform data analysis, and interpret results.
* Learn the skills to present test results to stakeholders concisely.
* Take part in investigative activities to identify technical issues and determine root cause.
* Produce test reports to update stakeholders on test progress, defects found and share observations.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on innovation projects and contribute to new product development.
* Develop skills by improving the efficiency of existing test techniques and developing new, advanced testing capabilities.
* Collaborate effectively with Module Test team members and mentors across all stages of product development and task completion.
Qualifications / Requirements
You will be encouraged to take initiative, work collaboratively across teams, and continuously develop professional skills. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are pursuing a degree in relevant technical disciplines, such as Mechatronics, Robotics, Mechanical, or Hardware Design, who are eager to apply their knowledge in a real-world engineering setting and:
* Have basic knowledge of Product Development Life Cycle.
* Able to demonstrate intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Able to communicate effectively in person and in writing with colleagues at all levels of the organisation to build strong and productive working relationships.
* Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Able to showcase problem-solving abilities through practical examples and experiences.
