About the Role
We are excited to invite multi-skilled or electrically biased Maintenance Technicians to join our Engineering Team at our Portbury production facility in Bristol. Here, we create flavor blends for some of the world's best-loved brands, with hundreds of tonnes of product meticulously measured, mixed, and packaged each week.
This is a permanent position with a flexible 3 or 4 shift pattern – AM/PM/Nights/Days.
Key Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, you will:
* Comply with health and safety policies and regulations.
* Resolve breakdowns and carry out preventative maintenance (PM) to minimize production downtime.
* Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to minimize risks effectively.
* Lock off dangerous machinery and notify relevant personnel for repairs.
* Proactively undertake PMs on offline machinery when time allows.
* Complete PM sheets with observations and recommendations, filing them with the Maintenance Planner.
* Gather information from production personnel to expedite fault-finding processes.
* Maintain accurate engineering logs and computer systems with all relevant information.
* Communicate professionally with external contacts, reflecting our company profile.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
To thrive in this role, we are looking for candidates with the right behaviors and competencies, along with a proven track record in a similar position. The ideal candidate will possess:
* HNC, City & Guilds, or time-served apprenticeship with appropriate electrical engineering qualifications.
* Experience in a similar role, preferably within a food manufacturing environment (other manufacturing experience is also valuable).
* Electrical bias or multi-skilled capabilities.
* PLC experience (highly desirable).
* Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems (highly desirable).
* A flexible approach and a positive 'can-do' attitude.
* Experience with SAP (highly desirable).
