Democratic Services Officer We’re looking for someone adaptable and proactive to join our Democratic Services Team. As a Democratic Services Officer, you'll play a key role in supporting the democratic process, working closely with councillors, committees and the Corporate Leadership Team. Your responsibilities will include preparing agendas, attending meetings (including evenings), and ensuring the smooth and effective administration of council business. We’re looking for someone highly organised with a keen eye for detail, strong IT and communication skills, and experience of minute-taking and committee administration. Experience of using IT systems to support efficient administrative practices. The applicant must be prepared to work flexibly in supporting the needs of the service. Do you have experience of planning and preparing meetings, experience in taking notes / minutes of meetings? Can you communicate effectively at all levels? Essential qualifications / attainments to the role: GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics Grade 4 or higher. Excellent written and oral communication skills and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Experience of undertaking a full range of administrative duties and must be prepared to work flexibly in supporting the needs of the service. This is a part time role, for 29 hours per week. Salary Band 2, SCP 22-24, full time salary £28,938 - £30,414. The pro-rata salary equates to £22,682 - £23,831 per annum. Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.
